Cumpleaños imprevisto

Hace apenas un par de días cumplí 39 años, normalmente acostumbro a viajar a casa de mi madre y festejar mi cumpleaños con mi familia nuclear y al siguiente fin de semana regresar a casa y festejar con mi familia de acá… pero este año estuvo un poco atropellado, aunque al final podrán ver que no estuvo para nada mal.

Comienzo platicándoles que mi viaje se canceló, últimamente hemos tenido algunos gastos de más y ha sido complicado tener cambios de planes, pero dos días antes de salir de viaje una de nuestras mascotas sufrió un accidente que requirió intervención médica, lo cual nos desestabilizó por completo y tuve que cancelar mi viaje de último momento… por otro lado, el siguiente fin de semana no haríamos nada en casa porque la pandemia aún no nos permite juntarnos como quisiéramos con familia y amigos… así que todo parecía haberse arruinado.

Pero la vida da vueltas, no podría decirles que es magia o buena suerte; pero definitivamente fue un regalo de una fuerza mayor que gobierna el universo, les cuento que después de que mis planes parecían no resultar del todo bien, mi hermano y mi sobrina me invitaron a comer el fin de semana (ellos viven mucho más cerca que mi madre) y pasamos una tarde fantástica al lado de ellos, no solo celebrando mi cumpleaños, pero también el día del padre con mi hermano, pasé de no tener fiesta a un festejo doble.

Después, el lunes tuve que salir de viaje por causas del trabajo, exactamente el día de mi cumpleaños, y cuando parecía que el día iba a ser normal descubro que hay un desayuno esperando por mí en el comedor, fue una sorpresa por demás agradable, porque yo esperaba que esto fuera un día MUY NORMAL… y comenzaba bien, al medio día tuve que salir de casa con mis compañeros de trabajo, que aunque nos conocíamos por razones laborales, nunca habíamos platicado de cuestiones personales… en el camino ellos se enteraron que era el día de mi cumpleaños y al llegar a Celaya organizaron una salida en mi honor en uno de los lugares más bellos de esa ciudad… algo que no me esperaba en lo absoluto.

Y hoy, tres días después de mi cumpleaños, les puedo decir que las sorpresas no paran, ya que las siguientes dos semanas estaré festejando con diferentes amigos que me han invitado a sus casas y también podré tener mi viaje original.

La vida no nos castiga, me ha quedado muy claro… nos recompensa por las pequeñas cosas que hacemos bien… yo no podría decir si merezco o no todas las bellas sorpresas que me han llegado, pero estoy seguro que algo he de haber hecho bien para poder merecerlos…

Haz el bien y no esperes nada a cambio, pero cuando una recompensa toque a tu puerta, ábrele con toda la alegría de tu corazón.

Unexpected birthday

Just a couple of days ago I turned 39, I usually travel to my mother’s house and celebrate my birthday with my nuclear family and the following weekend I return home and celebrate with my family extended family… but this year it was a bit run over, although in the end you can see that it was not bad at all.

I begin by telling you that my trip was canceled, two days before leaving on a trip one of our dogs suffered an accident that required medical intervention, which completely destabilized us and I had to cancel my trip at the last minute … on the other hand, the following weekend we would not do anything at home because the pandemic still does not allow us to get together as we wanted with family and friends … so everything seemed to have been ruined.

But life is strange and unexpected, I cannot say this is magic or good luck; but it was definitely a gift from a greater force that governs the universe, I tell you that after my plans seemed not to turn out quite right, my brother and my niece invited me to lunch on the weekend (they live much closer than my mother) and we spent a fantastic afternoon with them, not only celebrating my birthday, but also Father’s Day with my brother, I went from not having a party to a double celebration.

Later, on Monday I had to go on a business trip on my birthday, and when it seemed that the day was going to be normal I discover that there is a breakfast waiting for me in the dining room, it was an extremely pleasant surprise, because I expected this to be a VERY NORMAL day … and it started well, at noon I had to leave home with my co-workers, who although we knew each other only for work reasons, we had never discussed personal issues … on the way they found out It was my birthday and when we arrived to Celaya; they organized an outing in my honor in one of the most beautiful places in that city … something that I did not expect at all.

And today, three days after my birthday, I can tell you that the surprises do not stop, since the next two weeks I will be celebrating with different friends who have invited me to their homes and I will also be able to have my original trip.

Life does not punish us, it has become very clear to me … it rewards us for the little things we do well … I could not say whether or not I deserve all the beautiful surprises that have come to me, but I am sure that I must have done something right to be able to deserve them …

Do well and do not expect anything in return, but when a reward knocks on your door, open it with all the joy of your heart.
