Soy como un niño (en ocasiones)

En ocasiones es complicado aceptar que hay cosas que aún nos divierten, tal vez porque tengamos miedo a ser criticados o porque pensamos que hay acciones que solamente podíamos hacer cuando éramos más chicos. En mi particular caso me es complicado salir de mi armadura de “hombre maduro” y relajarme para poder tomar la vida con mayor sentido del humor… pero aun así hay ocasiones que simplemente no me puedo detener y algunas veces dejo a este niño interior salir a jugar por un rato.

La Fortaleza del Humor tiene una relación muy estrecha con las Fortalezas del Amor y la Esperanza (Niemiec, 2017, pág. 144), estas últimas se encuentran entre mis Fortalezas Insignia. Creo firmemente en que podemos utilizar nuestras Fortalezas Insignia que son aquellas más naturales en nosotros para poder llegar a otras que son más difíciles de utilizar. En mi caso, cada vez que he realizado el cuestionario VIA, Humor se ha situado en el número 24.

Hace apenas un par de días, me emocioné tanto al haber encontrado en la tienda un juguete para armar de uno de mis vehículos favoritos, así que hice a un lado esta armadura de la que les hablaba y me di permiso de volver a ser niño de nuevo, permitirme comprar un juguete y sentir la emoción de abrir la caja, armarlos y ver mi trabajo recompensado con un juguete nuevo.

Dense permiso de ser niños de nuevo, los invito a que jueguen con su sentido del Humor y que por medio de éste cultiven emociones positivas para ustedes y las personas que están alrededor suyo.

I’m like a child (sometimes)

Sometimes, it is difficult to accept that there are things that still amuse us, perhaps because we are afraid of being criticized or because we think that there are actions that we could only do when we were younger. In my particular case, it is difficult for me to get out of my “mature man” armor and relax to be able to take life with a greater sense of humor… but even so there are occasions that I simply cannot stop and sometimes I let this inner child come out to play for a while.

The Strengths of Humor has a very close relationship with the Strengths of Love and Hope (Niemiec, 2017, p. 144), the latter are among my Top Strengths. I firmly believe that we can use our Signature Strengths, which are the most natural in us to reach others that are more difficult to use. In my case, every time I have taken the VIA questionnaire, Humor has been at number 24!

Just a couple days ago, I was so excited to find a toy to assemble one of my favorite vehicles in the store, so I put aside this armor that I was talking about and gave myself permission to be a child again. Allowing myself to buy a toy and feel the excitement of opening the box, putting the pieces together and seeing my work rewarded with a new toy.

Give yourself permission to be a child again, I invite you to play with your sense of humor and through it cultivate positive emotions for yourself and the people around you.
